As a mother of three, I am constantly amazed that I didn’t even know modern cloth nappies existed before I had my children, in fact I only found about them when my first child was one. Thanks to a friend, I was introduced to the wonderful world of cloth nappies and the fantastic benefits associated with them. Since then, I haven’t looked back, and I can’t understand how I managed for the first 12 months without them!

Since I’ve started using cloth nappies, I’ve realised that a lot of people have negative perceptions towards them, and are unwilling to give them a go – old terry flats are what always come to mind, and comments about not having the time to wash and fold, that there is simply too much effort involved. I know, because I was the same.

I’ve tried many brands on my children, and while there are a lot of terrific products out there, it shocked me how expensive making the switch to cloth nappies can be. While cloth nappies are much cheaper than disposables in the long run, the initial outlay is often a deterrent to many new parents and families wishing to give them a try. Determined to make high quality cloth nappies available to people at more reasonable prices, I began making my own nappies, and soon enough, Bear Bottoms was born.
